How to Play Caribbean Stud

Author: Bhawan Singh

What is Caribbean stud and how do you play? The answers are simple. Caribbean stud is simply a game of poker with a few unique characteristics. Caribbean stud is a game of strategy, control, and reading other players. If Caribbean stud sounds like your kind of game, then read on.

One card is dealt to each of the seven players from a 52 card deck and the dealer will be dealt a 5 card hand for himself. The object is simple: you must have a higher hand then the dealer. First the player places a wager and can either fold the hand or call the bet by adding more to the pot. If the player folds; the wager is lost. If the player calls then he or she plays his or her hand against the dealer, if the dealer qualifies that is. In order to qualify the dealer must have a hand of ace-king or higher.

If the dealer does not qualify, then the player wins the hand and the ante, only the ante. But if the dealers hand does qualify and a player wins then that player is paid even money on the ante and even odds on the call bets. But if the dealer wins the hand then the player loses both the ante and the call bet.

Caribbean stud is a great game if you are someone who loves strategy and trying to learn what other people are thinking. Successful players of Caribbean stud are those who have trust in either their hands or their ability to fake it.
