Im sure that many would agree that affiliate programs are the quickest way to make money on the internet. Im also sure that many would agree that overnight success with any of the chosen programs is highly unrealistic. Dont get me wrong, its very likely that youll make money the day that you start. Working with affiliate programs can be very lucrative, but like anything else, it takes time.

Dont be discouraged if you dont see immediate results with your chosen program. Keep at it. Keep in mind that a lot of your success depends on your means of getting the program out there, and the traffic that your website attracts. Stay away from shady methods of getting site traffic, and try only to aim for targeted visitors, also known as visitors who are in the market for whatever it is that youre selling. The last thing you want to do is look at your hit counter to find that youve got major traffic, and no sales. Theres your sign that youre getting a lot of untargeted traffic.

If your site/product focuses on say, tennis, you want to attract tennis enthusiasts to your site, since those are the types of people who will most likely be purchasing your product(s). You dont want to load up your site stats with visitors who arent interested in purchasing your product. The point here is, after all, to make money. If Im looking for information on starting my own business, Im not particularly interested in purchasing tennis gear, and I would most likely leave the site almost immediately.

Follow the instructions of your program to the letter. Give it some time, and youre guaranteed to make money on the internet.
